Another favourite here!
This video was made in Australia. I am not sure who the coach is….? Some say Naoya Tsukahara but I am not convinced. Maybe someone could shine some light on this?
However, the video its self is great. Very clear progressions used accompanied by many interesting and relevant conditioning exercises.

Keep em’ coming guys. These are great!
Thanks Patt…..We will do our best!
Love the site guys, great stuff!
Picking up on a point on the rings swinging vid… You say at the vertical hang phase the chin should be placed on the chest, which allows the shoulders to begin to inlocate and stay low whilst the heels drive over, thus lifting the back swing. If the gymnast is performing an inlocate, at what point would you say the head should lift, as surely if the chin stays on the chest this would cause the gymnast to ‘roll’ through the inlocate rather than lift?
Cheers Will,
The ‘chin on the chest’ is only for the initial rotation at the bottom of the swing. It just makes it all easier for the gymnast. As the gymnast starts to swing higher i would tell them to keep their head down in a neutral position as then it will be in the correct place once the handstand is achieved. I condition this in the gymnasts by placing a chalk mark in the floor about 6 inches behind the still hang of the rings. This way the gymnast has something to focus on on the way up on both the inlocate and backuprise to handstand!
Hope these help!
Loving the site! Any tips for spotting the felge/peach on p-bars or would it be similar to the back giant clip?
Hi Dave,
A favourite support at the moment and preferred by many coaches is from the end of the bars.
Standing so they swing under the bars towards you, you can pick them from their hips and lift them firstly through dished handstand. (Similar to a backward roll through handstand to front support) then gradually lift them high towards handstand.
I have attached a video that Baz and Nick Blanton (IGC) made a few years back. They show the support numerous times in the clip.
